Legal Advice
The District Court staff is not permitted, by law, to give legal advice. The staff cannot help you complete your paperwork. Please consult with one of the community resources noted below or an attorney for assistance.
Go to the Washington State Patrol website and set up your own WATCH account. You will need a credit card.

Once your account is set up, you can order someone’s Washington criminal history. You will need to know their first/last name, gender and DOB. You can also enter their middle name/initial and possibly the last 4 digits of their social security if you have them.

There are four basic types of protection orders available. They are:
- Protection Orders
- No Contact Orders
- Restraining Orders, and;
- Anti-Harassment Orders
There is a great description of them in a pdf located here. It describes exactly what each type of order does, how it is obtained, what happens if it is violated, and much more.
