How do I obtain someone’s criminal history?
Go to the Washington State Patrol website and set up your own WATCH account. You will need a credit card.
http://www.wsp.wa.gov/crime/chrequests.htm
Once your account is set up, you can order someone’s Washington criminal history. You will need to know their first/last name, gender and DOB. You can also enter their middle name/initial and possibly the last 4 digits of their social security if you have them.

What kind of protection order do I need?
There are four basic types of protection orders available. They are:
- Protection Orders
- No Contact Orders
- Restraining Orders, and;
- Anti-Harassment Orders
There is a great description of them in a pdf located here. It describes exactly what each type of order does, how it is obtained, what happens if it is violated, and much more.
